October 2020 Update
September has proved to be a continuation of the challenges we are facing due to the Covid-19 situation. However, we have tried to work around things but as you appreciate, we must keep not only to the letter but also the spirit of the regulations and hopefully we will get through it sooner rather than later.
We have continued to open the Book exchange and the Community shop, we hope to gradually increase the opening hours as more volunteers become available.
From 1st October we will be resuming the collection for the food pantry in the carpark of Santuário Senhor Jesus da Pedra, Óbidos. If you are unfamiliar with it, it is the large church on the road to Caldas da Rainha, (opposite the Bombeirros). The food, toiletries and clothes are distributed by our partner organisations; Banco Alimentar, Fadas Janotas, Tarefa Altruísta, Guias de São Lourenço and Ordem do Trevo
We have been contacted by the Rotary Club who are collecting Portuguese language books to send to Africa. If you have any you wish to donate for this, please drop them off at the Book exchange.
If you wish to volunteer to help with for any of the events or activities, please send us an email.
We are looking forward to the future when we are able to resume our coffee mornings and Quizzes but, in the meantime, we all need to stay safe.
Thank you for your continued support. With kind regards,
